Does it matter what brand spark plugs i buy??

Ight heres the deal...I went into Advanced Auto today to price some Platinum plugs. The Autolite plugs are about $2.50 a plug, bosch are around $2 and everything else platinum was between $2-$4 a plug...BUT the NGK platinums were $9.50 a plug AND had to be ordered!! should i get the NGKs or will somethin else be just as good. If there is a chance that any of the other plugs arent gonna be as good as the NGKs ill get the NGKs...i just wanna know before i buy them if the others will perform just as good as the NGKs or should i just go ahead and buy the NGKs.

I just put new plugs in my car at 45k. I used NGK Coppers, which were $2 a peice. It was definetly worth it! My car has better throttle response and gas mileage is likely to increase. At 45k my plugs had very little life in them left.

I changed out my plugs to Denso Iridiums because I had heard many good things. One being they produce a better spark than platinum and the same or better spark at copper, and two they last longer than platinum. Well...after looking on Denso's web site, they stated the Iridium plugs should be changed every 30K miles. I looked on the NGK Iridium site and they said change them as needed. Well for me if I am going to have to change my plugs at 30K miles anyways I am going to be using copper for about $2 a plug vs. the Iridium which is $10-12 a plug.

Platinum lasts longer, but they say you don't get as much of a spark.
