Finally... Warspeed Y, Test pipe, and Cattman B are on!!

Today is the day that i got my car back from my friend's auto shop. I dont have time to install them due to 19 units of my classes, and i only need to pay him for a dinner, which was nice!!!

The performance, all i could say was AMAZING. Not just the loud deep tone, when the car runs above to 4000rpm, it pulls A LOT harder than before. It's a serious HP gain... You really can feel it right away, it's damn obvious. I was going to get the RT cat, but my friend said just get a test pipe, same function but more flow.

And i am very satisfy with the setup

Sweet! Thats the same exhaust set-up I am planning to run in the near future. How loud is it at idle and below 4000rpms when driving?? Does it smell from not having cats?

umm....it's kind of loud to me, like u will be center of the attention when u pass the intersection.

yeah it SMELLS BAD in the morning when u start up the car. So everytime i start up the car, i would back up to the drive way right away otherwise the whole garage will be foggy. I guess the airs are totally free from the engine, that's y the smells r so strong. But after u warm up for a while, the smell is gone.

i do hear the loud deep tone under 4000rpm. It's still loud enough to get u pull over. Some people said they have clunking noise on their Y pipe. My friend put some sort of like tape or something all over the y pipe, he said if u put on some tapes, the clunking noise will reduce or even gone.

I think the Warpspeed Y is great, if u have money, u can get the stainless steel one. It last longer. But my area doesn't snow or rain that much so rush is no need to worry about. Cattman B is nice too, it has build in resonator and ur car won't be too loud.

TIG and MIG r just the welding technology. In other words, TIG's welding is stronger than MIG. But if i were u, i would stick with MIG, cuz the welding feels nothing to me....

The Catman B-pipe is nice. The large resonator on it helps keep the noise level down compared to say Greddy.

I luv my Catman B-pipe. I really would like a Y-pipe though but I'm trying to hold out for the Stillen header/ypipe combo. But yeah the B-pipe made me hungry for more power. You can definitely feel it from 5k rpms up.

how is the sound from your b-pipe? Do you have a muffler?

Oh yes. I have a Magnaflow and it is moderately loud. You will definitely be getting looks from ricers. No more stealth family sedan. Everyone will know. Its quiet at idle though. Romp on the gas and it wakes up like a V8. Not for mom's or grandmothers.

Since your friend installed the Y-pipe, can you ask him how the fitment was? There's a bracket welded on the pipe between the flex section and the catalytic convertor. My Warpspeed aluminized pipe for my 2K2 doesn't fit right! Wondering if yours was the same way. Also, do you notice vibration inside the car at around 2500 rpm?

Doesn't anyone have any dyno numbers with just the Cattman B pipe?

I would also like to know what it sounds like with the stock muffler.

i felt no vibration around 2500rpm. i guess he put some of those white tapes all over my y-pipe...but i dont know... And about the fitment issue, he said the fitment was no problem. He said if you have problem, you can take the Y-pipe to ur local muffler shop and let them banned the pipe a bit, then it should fit no problem.

hope this helps

I dunno how Stillen is going to get away with headers on a VQ35 with its close-coupled cat- meaning the cat is bolted to the exhaust manifold- and on some cars its part of the exhaust manifold. By removing the cats U WILL have a check engine light on 4 ever-front cats- the one behind the Ypipe-between the B-pipe has no sensors. Unless I'm missing some vital part of information here this will not work if the cats are removed. Since I don't come here alot- and I'm a Max freak-VQ30 thou, I might be missing out on the info.

That is my concern as well BlackBird. Unless they plan on relocating the O2 sensors behind the main cat which would require bungs to be welded into the exhuast pipe.

SOUND???????

To sound
or not to sound

That is the question

Thus the sound of the CATTMAN B-PIPE still lies as a mystery. Even those who have ponder on this journey still havath found. What is thou to do?
