have rental, will drive

left my maxima at the body shop this morning for some work and headed over to the local enterprise. struck up a conversation with the manager there and i started to bug him about getting me into a new maxima. he tells me that they're pretty hard to come by cuz everyone wants to rent em, so they're gone as soon as they get em in.
but he offers me a new QX4 for the same price. he throws in a bunch of extra miles per day and i agree. hop in and i'm out the door in my new infiniti...
best part is, my insurance is picking up the tab for the whole two weeks.

I rented a car last weekend for my ski trip, unfortunatley, its all they had was a ford focus! What i POS, plenty of head room though

Nevertheless, we were quite embarressed driving it.

Why were you embarrassed driving it? Did you think the "focus" was on you? Pun Intended

Aw c'mon - the Focus isn't that bad. My fiance has a 4-dr SE w/ the Zetec and all the power goodies. It's a lot of car for the money IMHO. At least you weren't in a little Geo Metro or something...

You want embarrassment? My fiance's Focus says "DOPEY 97" on the license plate. She is too into Snow White and the seven dwarves...ugh. She even has a Dopey dwarf decal on the back window.

All it needs now is tinted windows so I can't be seen in it...

I agree those rental 2002/03 maxima are hard to rent, my brother tried on 4 different occassions and they never had them in.

holy cow. very impressed with the infiniti's power. i don't know if it's the rear wheel drive (i have 4wd turned off) or the 3.5

i'm sure it's a combination of the two, but straight line pull is remarkable, in even the in the heavier (i think) QX4.

i'm dying to try out the 3.5 in a rwd sedan a la g35....

My cousin was able to rent one in Long Island, NY over the summer. I warned him and told him to take insurance since he wanted to be cheap and rent an expensive car but didnt want to pay extra for insurance. Lucky for his @ss .. the HIDs were stolen two days later. Oh yeah! I did warn him about parking near Yankee stadium for 3hrs

It's not an illusion... We've got the 2002 Pathfinder LE and the 3.5L is just plain awesome. Combined with the smaller size (compared to all those fat@ss SUVs out there) and all around high quality feeling, this generation Pathfinder and QX4 are unmatched. The price is also amazing for all it includes. It truly is the Maxima of SUVs.

Nissan engines Rock!

hmmmm..i don't know if focus also has different suspension tuning depending on their trim level. maybe you drove a "base model"
but i drove a friend's focus and i have to say it is the best handling car in it's class (out handles civics, corollas, neons, chevy, gm and korean $h*t)
in fact i think it out handles the non-se max's
yeah it's got an unrefined, loud engine, and the road/wind noise is just unacceptable. but the thing handles and the chasis feels solid!!
on twisty mountain roads the turn-in response, steering feedback, road holding are incredible. no wonder in world rally championship they are placed higher than the subaru wrx's
they are also in the best 10 car list of car&driver, along with the likes of bmw3, g35, accord....etc, they are no fluke!!!

Yeah actually your right about the handling, and your right about it being a base model, they have a svt or something like that out now, not sure how better that one is.

We have a Focus

And although Alex wont like it...I am very happy with it given it price tag and options. Just need a little more "juice".
