Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else has heard about a supposed Super Sport Maxima to be released in 2003 (Model year 2004)?

I had a pal at TBW/Chiat Day (Nissan ad firm) who told me this model has been in the works for a while. He said early specs. have it to be between 275-300 hp.

Any feedback would be appreciated,

2-DOOR

I saw in a mag about two years ago that they might make a 2-door max for 2004 and it will have 280+hp.

I don't remember what mag it was it was sitting on a table at a tire kingdom.

We need more insiders.........

I've heard from friends@the local dealership that the 2004 is going to share the new altima platform, but I also hear that it will be RWD. I don't think both can be true. If a Maxima SE-R shows its head as a 2002 model, I will be buying this car especially if it makes the claimed HP and has a VLSD. However I am also curious about the larger 2004 model, i'd be real hurt if I bought the 02 or 03 and the 04 is a V-8 RWD w/a manual tranny. I'd be upside down real quick.

I read in Car and Driver

that we will be getting The Skyline I think in late 2003. it will be expected to put out 400hp. With a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6. They say its possible. So who knows what that could mean.

Though I'd love for this to be true. I find it hard to swallow. There aren't many 400 hp cars available in the US and nothing has come from Nissan about this at all. If we do get a Skyline I believe it will be a little more neutered than the 400hp. With all the desire for the car I think they'd be hyping it more. But, that two years away so who knows.
