if you screwed up the gauges in the process then yeah, Nissan won't fix it...just be careful with the needles and circuit boards and stuff and don't break anything and you'll be fine. As for voiding anything with your powertrain or anything, it shouldn't, because that's an unrelated part of the car.
If you do break it...DON'T go to Nissan...hit the junkyards and find your own gauges, because you don't want Nissan slapping a TMU on your car (true milage unknown).
