There is such an assortment of morons and their cars around here it's not even funny.. My personal favorite was a toyota tercel with an M badge on the back...

 

Personally I kinda like the Toyota Focus and the Benz M6 . There are sooo many moron around here that I dont know if I should laugh or just shake my head and feel sorry for em. Ive seen a mustang here with a NISMO widnsheild banner and japanese decals all over it and it was stock with the exception of the windshield washer lights and a crap wing. I also saw a late 80's camry with a wood, yeah wood cutout of a hood scoop like 2 days ago along with a wood wing all painted red and the car was grey, wtf are these people on

 

Once I saw a red Pontiac Gran AM with some Chinese word Stickers, since I can read chinese I was able to Identify them.

"Mugen" "Civic" "Prelude" (in chinese)etc... You name it, the funniest one was he put the word "Speed" upside down on his gas filler door.

Man, if you are going to put on stickers, atleast put the word upright...

 

for one, there is no such thing as a CLK 430 AMG. They just added the AMG badge to it. Also, you are lucky you were going straight. Otherwise, hed get real small in the windshield real fast. As an owner of a mercedes and a maxima, the extra money is in the build quality.

 

i've seen a mustang GT-R once that was a limited edition that had turbo and headers and a rotary motor (saw it in a video)

 

I'm sure for the right amount of money you can get an AMG package put on it. I'm almost positive that they throw on AMG rims onto the CLK430, I'll have to see on Thursday when my friend and I go to get his ML320 serviced, AGAIN.

JUST in case, the guy comes back and says that the car was actually a clk430 (not AMG), i'm preemptively calling BS on him because even a clk430 would wax him on a highway run.

 

a) There is absolutely no way in hell a STOCK '02 or '03 Max is going to even remotely walk a STOCK CLK 430. In order to even give one grief, you would have to go to Forced induction or Nitrous. CLK55AMG vs Max.....

b) Let me give you a rundown on some customizations I have seen in the Chicago area (Damn, I'll be glad when I get my digicam)

a) Escort with spoiler that looks like it came from Home Depot, including the pedestals (looked like fence posts to me).

b) Lincoln Town Car with Vogues, Custom Vinyl Top, Chrome rims, and a pedestal spoiler on the trunk

c) A Prelude with an Acura Emblem on the back but the Honda Emblem up front

 

Even if the basic story is true, the guy stilled pulled a "ricer" move by "racing" the Merc when it was caught in traffic. I mean how lame is that? Ricers used to do that to me all of the time. At a stop light with traffic in front of us they would rev their engine (gerbil in a running wheel) at me and roll back and forth using their clutch acting as if they wanted to race. Once traffic would clear do you think they would race me!? Heck no, they would drive like grandmas and wouldn't budge.

This guy is a ricer, plain and simple.

I am not sure why a 2002 Max can't run with CLK430. CLK430 doesn't have any AMG power add-ons. All it has is AMG rims and some suspension add-ons I think.

CLK430 runs like low 6.1-6.3sec 0-60.
I think Auto 2002 Max or even 6-speed Max should be able to run with it.

Now if it was CLK55, when it is totaly different story.

 

That is why I choose to nibble on Legos (civics)......

It's real easy to tell the Amg 55 from the stock 430, it's got a different "kit" (per say), and badges all over it. And a different looking and louder exhaust.

Now if it was a 55, he wasn't racing you.


IF it was a 430 he could still whoop you. And if you made this up...Do your homework.

Or, he badged it, much like idots with maximas put GTR on there car...It's not it just cuz you got the badge.

ok, i did a search on google, clk430 does the 1/4 mile in 14.8. That is similar to a 3.5L 6 speed. I think the guy that posted had a 3.5 AUTO. Am I wrong?

but 0-60 in 6.8 which means to me that it is pulling like hell from 70mph on up...lots of top end...

a (3.5L)Maxima should hang for a while, but the clk would kick it's butt after 100. again, the CLK55...why even discuss an AMG with a grocery getter? that's like comparing the M3 (instead of the 330) with a G35.

anyway, when I was in the Marine Corps, this guy from "da-hood" had an Escort with a BMW badge...I have always said I would drive an Escort if it drove like an M3, but this guy was obviously more concerned with the name brand than the experience. Rebadgers crack me up...

Legos can change many parts from different manufactures (legos, big blocks, dupo etc....)

Hondas can change many parts from different manufacturers ( Acura, Civics, Lexus, Toyota body parts, Accords, and in some instances, Mazdas)

If you see a riced out Civic, Accord, or Prelude...... it is a Lego.

i ran a clk 430 with an amg badge 2 nights ago , i passed him doing 70 mph and he gets behind me and starts to pace me, he stayed about 2 cars back till about 120mph when some slight curves in the parkway made him loose his nerve and i put about 4 cars on him . i slow for my exit and he flashes his hi beams as he speeds by. this was about 1:00am
