rattling from front passenger side

there is a rattling, more like a buzz even, coming from right around the top of the passenger side dash is. BUT, it only happens at highway speeds (used to happen above 75, now it happens around 50+). i've spent all morning trying to locate it...duct taping things, and roadtesting. has anyone has this same problem and have any ideas on where it may be coming from? i can't even tell if it's coming from within the cabin, under the hood, or around the windshield.

thanx.

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the rattle that you're talking about happen when you hit a bump in the road? i think mine is created by the wind somehow, as it only happens at higher speeds. and warming the car doesn't help...i had to listen to it through the entirety of a 4 hour road trip this weekend....

Hi..

I had a similar problem.. sounded like the whole dash on the passenger side was loose or something and rattling.. Well.. First, I tighted the screw on the bottom right side of the dash panel next to the glove box. Then i tightend the screw on the right side of the glove box when it was opened. THIS CAUSED IT TO RATTLE MORE!!!

So.. I came to conclustion that it was too tight. In light of this, I loosened the same two screws a lot, till they just made contact with the plastic. That did it, no more rattling coming out of my dash

Have you tried this yet? Let me know if it works for you..

Good luck,
Nick

thanks. i tried this, but my buzzing rattle isn't coming from the area around the glove compartment. it's right around where the windshield meets the top of the dash. i almost feel like it's something under the hood. i duct taped the bottom of the windshield, so i know it's not an air leak there. again, it only happens at higher speeds. anyone else have any other suggestions? i can't seem to get a self fix on this, and i don't have any faith in the dealer to find it.

there is a tsb for rattles on the top of the forum. The tsb say that there is two reasons. One reason is the that the passenger knee bar hits the air vent and rattles. The other is the hinges of the glove box. THey said to fix this you put felt or weatherstrip between them. YEAH IT IS IN THE TSB AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. SQUEAKS AND RATTLES. I HAD THIS PROBLEM THEN DID THIS AND IT FIX IT, BUT NOW THE DOOR TRIM RATTLES BECAUSE I BROKE SOME OF THE CLIPS INSTALLINF MY SYSTEM.
