I have a 02 GLE w/o a sunroof and would really like to get one installed. Does anyone have any experiences good/bad with an aftermarket sunroof. My dealer installs Webasto/Solaire sunroofs, they look really nice and the install is spotless, but just worried about future problems. The dealer told me a Lifetime Warranty on every part of sunroof and the mfg. will repair damage to the car from problems with the roof. My stepdad just had an ASC installed on his Park Avenue and it looks identical with same warranty. Last option I saw was Mr. Nismo is selling a roof from a 4th gen max, will this fit my 5th gen and can it be installed or is it pretty much a dead issue. I see Nissan bends the edges of the roof to fit the sunroof, can this be done at a shop. Please any help would be great. The two aftermarket roofs cost $1200.00 installed. Thanks, Chris

 

I had mine put in aftermarket. Cost $1000, and like you said install is spotless. Webasto makes most sunroofs that factories put in. Aftermarket you can't have the rolled edges, theres a flange that goes on top of the cart's roof. Looks very clean.

Has some nice features like 1 touch open/close. And it closes automatically after you turn the car off and get out, but that can be disabled. I happen to love that feature. Never forget and leave your roof open again. You can just forget it and it closes.

Webasto is the highest quality you can get in aftermarket motorized.

Had mine installed in the Philadelphia area.

 

hmmm...i wouldn't want to get an aftermarket sunroof...i've seen so many of them leak or fail...
