How do we advance the timing on our 2k1 Maximas?

What is involved and what performance gains are expected? I must have missed this a while back.

You need to have your dealer advance the timing using a Consult II. And don't be surprised if they say it can't be done.

What benefits did you see? is 17 btdc the way to go?

The ONLY way you can do this for free is if you own a Consult II. Otherwise it MUST be done by your dealer. You shouldn't have to pay more than 1/2 hour of their labor rate, as advancing the timing is about a 15 minute job start to finish.
