Cleaning K&N/SI/Pop Charger Filter
#1
Hi Guys, I just bought a cleaning kit for my PopCharger filter and its in the sink drying right now. Anyone know how long one of these bad boys takes to dry? Is it safe to drive with it damp? I would assume the engine would easily burn that small amount of moisture. Also, does it need to be dry before its re-oiled?

So I just threw the filter back on the car. I used a K&N cleaning kit I bought for $9.99 at G.I. Joes. Well, there definately was some junk in the filter. I wouldn't say it was nasty dirty and I'm not sure a cleaning was necessary, but it won't hurt. I had about 10k miles on the filter so I thought it'd be a good idea.
Overall the cleaning is simple.
-Bang the gunk out of it, they even suggest using a soft paint brush or something (I skipped this).
-Spray on their cleaning solution and let it soak fo 10minutes.
-Rinse it (tap water is fine) from the inside out (so you don't force the dirt into the filter).
-Let it dry. No time period was specified, I gave it about three hours.
-Spray it with the filter oil included in the kit. This part is messy and the oil is red so you probably wanna do this outside.
-Let it dry more and then put it on the car.
Most people have probably done this already but hopefully this gives someone an idea of the whole procedure.
