Some questions about ignition coils.

I think my pinging is caused by bad coils. But I have 74k miles so warranty is no good and I have to pay out of pocket.

I looked at some websites and it looks like the coils cost only like $60 per side.

My question is:

1) Do I need just one coil, or do I need to get 3 for each side? I'm trying to decide if this is a $120 job or a $300 job.

2) Can I do this myself? or is it something that needs to be done by a dealer? I am pretty handy by the way, I've done my own springs, CAI, and Y-pipe.

Some answers would be appreciated. Thanks

in theory.. you can replace just one.. but might as well get all done if you can afford it.. since the one in the car are older design and are probably going to die sooner or later...

it's not a 60 dollar job... the 6 pack from DaveB will probably cost you around 300 dollars..

you can do it yourself.. just find the website on how to change the sparkplugs and that is basically it..

good luck
