350Z story !

so its my friend's bday and we were havin lunch at apple bee's.. we were sittin there and having a good time.. john's (birthday boy, 18)cell phone goes off, after a short conversation his face looked like this his parents told him to pick up his bro from middle school, so he left.. (that really suxs)

2 mins later.. he comes around the corner in a brand new Black 350Z, he was crying.. we all run out.. and found out that the car was his bday present (followed by alot of punches, haha)some nice parents he have..

then his mom told us the story: just as john walked to the parkin lot.. he called her and said.. some ******* stole my car, my fav car is on my spot, theres a black 350 here.. his mom came out behind another car (she was hiding) and handed him the keys, and said : why do you go pick up your bro now? <-john's face at that moment.. we say the video tape and had a good time

BTW it was a AUTO tourin model

its all good, not alot of ppl get a 350z for their 18th bday, we'll probably get some pics soon, i'll post em by tommorow or so

That's a good story. But IMO handing an 18 year old kid a 280 HP car is like handing him a loaded gun. If I had a car like that at 18 I surely would be dead by now!

In any case, I hope he enjoys the car and gets many chicks as a result

ps: What would make this a GREAT story is if he said "Oh, an automatic?"

i got my max when i was 18 and it has 255 hp. granted the 350z looks alot sportier and thus would maybe provoke more street racing, it would not affect me if i had a 350z. however, i dont.

You should have seen the HP on the car I got for my 18th b-day...

1970 Oldsmobile 442 Ram Air (455 CID)

My dad had been working on this thing for like 9 months before I got it. It had every power upgrade available (still N/A), and never got better than 8 MPG...but DAYUM...what a rush when launched (you could light the exhaust on fire, too )

oh come on... don't be jealous

: ]

When i am at that point, I will give my child the world... so long as he could handle it. Maturity cannot be measured by a sports car, but neither should it be judged because he gets what you want : ]

To all the kids who are spoiled, they may not appreciate a good thing, but one day hard work can provide us with what we want after all... We all get a far shot at it, some way or another.

What you said truly does come from the heart, and I agree that with you on giving out children the world. You are a big hearted parent.. But i think we are all spoiled in one way or another we all dont appreciate what we have. I appreciate the car I have though.. and since maturity isnt measured by a sports car, my kid will be getting the full treatment of driving a minivan like i did for the first 3 years....(like i did when i got my licsence!).

You all complaint about your cars too much.......Well Atleast most of you guys got NEW cars for your FIRST CAR!

My first car was a 92 Sentra GXE w/ Automatic. (I was 3rd owner, 2 sisters before me was driving until they got new cars)

Whopping 110HP and 108Ib/ft of Torque!! 13inch wheels, Makes me want to cry just thinking about it

I was still driving before September of 2002.

So Hey, doesn't matter what car you got for your first car, if its NEW You are Luckier than Me

why all the hostility ?? he is luck to have parents tht do well enough to get him a nice car. No skin off anyone else's nose if someone else gets a gret gift. The grass is always greener on the other side, who knows , with that Z might also come more control from the parents.

My first car was an Astro Minivan with 80,000 miles. I almost killed myself and a few people in it several times. I can't even imagine how many minutes I would have been alive after I got a 350Z.

My step-father told me I could have the 1984 Toyota Tercel wagon on my 18th birthday but then he ended up selling it for 300 bucks...

To be honest though, if I was given such a car on my 18th birthday, I wouldn't be driving right now. I'd either be dead or I'd have my license suspended. It was suspended with a 240sx I bought off my step-father when I was 21 so imagine a 350Z...

If I had gotten a 350Z from my parents for my 18th birthday I would have to shed some tears. And when I saw it was an automatic I probably would have cried even harder....

Dude, I PAID for my first car....a 1975 Volvo 164E
my 2nd second car....A 1987 Chevy Spectrum
my 3rd car...a 1992 Sentra SE-R (first new car)
my 4th car...some POS Mazda (station car)
my 5th car...1987 Sentra (station car)
my 6th car...1997 Pontiac T/A
my 7th car...1999 Durango
my 8th car....2003 Maxima

Hmmm....looks like I paid for all my cars except the one my sister just gave me in the summer (1993 Mazda MX-6 - station car).

So the moral of the story is be happy you got a car at all....and wow I have had a lot of cars!

Haha, my first car was a used 87 Sentra XE with 3-spd auto that I bought myself. I had to drive over a mountain to work, and that thing could barely hold 50mph going uphill. If I didn't get up to speed before going up the mountain, it would gradually slow down. It was either redline in 2nd gear, or barely maintaining speed in 3rd gear.

My first car was a '86 Ford LTD.. and hand-me-down from my older brother. Got it in '96. It fell apart about 6 months after I got it.

At least then I got my mom's 91 Sentra GXE which eventually lead me into buying a 2k2 Max after graduating from college.
