Lightweight rims

Lightweight rims
I'm considering the purchase of a set of Rota Sub-Zero rims from a fellow ORG'er and am just wondering what the general opinion is on the lightweight rims. I'm mostly worried about their ability to survive my daily beltway driving and occasional runs into the triple digit area of the speedometer. Does the fact that they are lighter make them weaker?

I also reduced my unsprung weight even though I went to 18"s. The OEM 17s weighed in at 48.5 pounds with the OEM tires, the SSR GT1s with the much bigger tires (245/40 ZR18) weighed in at 47.5 pounds; 1 pound less than the OEM combo. The SSR GT1s weigh about 4-5 pounds less than the OEM 17" rims, but because I went with a much bigger tire (and since the Bridgstone S-03s are inherently heavy) I lost only 1 pound of unsprung weight; which is still better than gaining weight

hmmmmm.....I don't think so. I think I have only seen 1 other member with the real SSR GT1s on their car. A couple have knock offs (NAKAYAMA) and one or 2 have the SSR Competitions.

SSR GT1 = hehe i want these wheels so bad but i dunno if they are worth the $400 a wheel....
They are Semi-Solid Forged, lightweight and strong...IMO they most definitely are worth the price.
