I dont know if the Max let off or not but it did get pulled on. However, we are talking 6sp manual vs 4sp auto. Couple that with the fact the J32A2 pulls harder at higher RPMs than the VQ35DE and the results are what you see in the video.

Peace.

whatever that means, let's stop before this turns into a flame war over how many gears an auto 2k2 has. look it up if you don't believe us.

"Drive type is front wheel, and standard transmission is four-speed automatic that responds quite well."

I guess where i read about the 5spd auto was a bunch of BS

I WISH I had a 5speed auto in my Max. Maybe then I'd trap higher than 93mph.

Nice run for your car bing an auto vs manual CLS. This should show those TLS/CLS guys with auto trannies that the Max can more than likely take them/run neck and neck judging by how good that auto Max hung in their in the beginning with a manual CLS(alot of them say oh I can whip an 02/03 auto Max. Also that Max did let off toward the end it appears.

I believe there's a 5 speed auto and a 4 speed auto available for the 2k4 depending on the trim.

Good Race! That CL-S had a bad A$$ launch!
Probably a Pretty good Stick Shift driver too.

Didn't like the result, but hey.....can't win them all

Interesting thing about the race in the vid, i thought, was that the Max (even IF it was auto racing a 6-spd acura) held its own pretty darn well up until the CL-S most likely shifting into 4th gear and then truly had an awesome gearing advantage.. the Max (if he stayed on the ball) was prolly finished up 3rd gear...

Still need to see a vid of a 6-spd acura vs. a 6-spd Maxima.. i've read many anecdotal accounts of this particular race.. but I want a real video
