there's ways to do it, but u kinda lose the lock afterwards.

u can hammer on a socket that's a lil smaller than the nut, and get it off like that, or u can create a lil notch on the nut, then kinda hammer and chisel it on that notch until it turns.

Please confirm with other people before u do this, cuz i don't wanna have u do it this way if there are easier ways. And, if u got it from the dealer like that, i'm sure u can get another one.

Get a ride to your local Nissan place and get a new part.

Re: tire locks

I have a 2k3 and never knew I had locking lugs. (Guess I should go look!) Is this standard on all of them?

No. But if the dealer where you bought your Max had any sense they would have already put them on and of course they charge you for them.

Well that would be why I don't have them. I am not too worried though--my car is in my garage every night, and if they get past security at my office then I guess I just have to go spend the insurance money as a downpayment for bigger wheels!

If you buy them from the dealer....they attach them to the lug wrench in the tool bag, next to the donut spare.

Check there first....then panic if they ain't there!

thanks

Vic

only real way to get it off would be to probably break the lock and stud.....you need a shop that has pneumatic tools and you need to have them power that sucker off....

most definitely gonna break the lock and might break the stud...but if you lost the lock, its not gonna matter much anyway..except you're gonna have to have the others broken too....

tell your dad next time to either stick it in the glove box or armrest container.

Actually, the best place is wrapped in something that won't bang around and then placed right in the spare tire well.

true!!!!! I actually have mine nestled in a tool kit that I purchased at Costco about a year ago...kit comes in a case that has a crevice perfect for a wheel key....
