RWD conversion - <---- APRIL FOOLS, GUYS..

So...

I have been contemplating doing something a little odd. I want my maxima to be truly unique...something totally different mod wise.

I have been talking to some different shops and some are willing to help, others not.

Has anyone here done a RWD conversion on their car here?

One shop I've been talking to says they can have it done in less than 2 weeks...so I am thinking probably have them do it.

thanks..

YES...

THIS WAS ALL ONE BIG JOKE...

OBVIOUSLY SOME OF YOU DIDN'T SEE ME POST THAT EARLIER?!?!

it would be cool though, huh??????????

how would you go about doing this and would the bottom $$$ in conversion really be worth the trouble??

I am under the assumption that in order to do this, the engine mounting would have to be flipped around transversely. I could be wrong, though

Has that shop EVER done anything like this before? I find it very hard to believe they can do it in that amount of time, let alone with any quality.

Would it not be easier just to go and get a G35? If too pricy now, hang in there a year or so until they start showing up on lots used.

I am holding out for the Harrier conversion. For those times when traffic is just unbearable.

It might be easier to just flip the seats around and mount the steering wheel to the back seat.

Oldmobile or Buick had an old boat of a car back in the late 70's early 80s that was FWD... But the motor wasn't mounted sideways. It had a weird tranny that drove the front wheels...

On a max I highly doubt the hack job to do this would be worth your while... I would actually go out on a limb to say its impossible to pull off successfully unless you pulled the body off the car and mounted it on say a camaro frame.... But I mean even then the work involved is insane....

MAYBE those guys on Monster Garage could do it??? hmmmm...

Save yourself the time and money and buy a 240sx if you must stay Nissan and be RWD... Or a nice 300zx...

Don't forget the through the roof 4" exhaust pipe to smoke up the dyno room.

And Im glad I wasn't the first one to find this thread because I was about to give tech advice on how to do the Murano AWD conversion.

I'd like the Inspector Gadget mod, where you push a button and the body of the car springs up 30 feet while the wheels stay rolling on the ground. CustomMaxima said they should have one out by the end of this summer.

how could i forget? refresh my memory, its not good when your turbo wobbles back and forth while you are dynoing right? then you start spraying while its wobbling and the engine light is flickering.

Time to call Monster Garage. If they can make a Mini into a snowmobile. Maybe they can do a RWD conversion. Nothing a Blow Torch can't fix.
