While gas is so expensive and me not having a job i use the low grade3/4 fill ups and the high grade for the other fill up. I havent had any problems with this so far...

I was always using 91 since I first had my car in September 2002. I have a 2003 and since the price of gas has gone thru the roof in southern california, I am now 89. Primium gas here is now at 2.36 89 is 2.20 and 87 is 2.10. Out of hand I say.

i've used premium throughout the break-in period, but ever since i just have a feeling of guilt putting in 89 (there's no 91 around me), so i kept putting in 93. "Luckily" the price difference isn't huge so it doesn't hurt the wallet any more so than putting in the plus. Eitehr way i'm spending close to $30. Funny thing is, i never cared about the kind of gas in my old car.

Lucky you -- we pay close to 2.40 on premium here in Northern CA

Irrespective of the price, she gets premium all the time

Premium, simply because should anything go wrong that can be traced back to the gas u used, they mihgt not warranty it.

You don't think requiring 91+ ocatain is a good selling point do you? If you continue to use anything less than 91+ octain, you will eventually destroy your engine.

I personally use Sinclair Dinosaur premium...

Actually, check out page 4 of the FAQ-U sticky.

In the link to dynospotracing.com under, tech articles, you'll find a dyno comparo for a Jetta using 89 and premium gas. The safe assumption is that the max would lose torque and power across the power band similarly.

book says premium, I use it...If you can't afford to put the proper gas in, don't drive the car...

I even used 89 in my 02 Altima 2.5 before I traded her in on this 3.5 beast!!!

Although on american cars, now matter how monsterous the engine, 87 always seemed to work better than anything else...damn americans...

Per the owners manual, Nissan "highly recommends" high octane for performance. I don't think the lesser will pose a long term effect on the engine as long as it is not knocking. The computer will retard the timing to compensate, thus decreasing the performance. I don't think I would be ******* on the car with the cheaper fuels though.

Judging by what you guys are saying, I guess I shouldn't complain about the $1.73 I'm paying for 93 octane here! (Dallas) But I miss the days of 87 and 87 only in my Saturn ($1.55)

I've always used 92 when i fill up at Sunoco and 93 everywhere else. Here in Ohio, I paid $1.569 for 93. It tends to fluctuate a little though.
