Now that I look closely at it... it's sorta like Stillen's, but not really. Compare them with my pics if you will...

I just got my Satin Blue Pearl 2001 SE!

After waiting since February for my 2000 Maxima 5-spd SE, it finally arrived on Mon Aug 21. To my surprise and delight, it is a 2001! Happy Happy Joy Joy INDEED. I personally love the extra little things Nissan added to the Max that I did not expect, like the auto-tinting rear-view mirror and the steering wheel stereo controls. Next step is the AeroKit from Stillen...

Re: Re: I just got my Satin Blue Pearl 2001 SE!

The two MAJOR interior changes are the addition of the auto-tinting rear-view-mirror (sweeeeeeet) and the stereo controls on the wheel (niiiiice). Minor mod's include lowering the lumbar support adjust lever so it's easier to get to when you're driving, and an improved cargo net configuration in the trunk. Child seat mounting brackets are now standard along with an interesting little set of slits in the heel of the back seats which look like strap feeds for the child seat.. I think the 17" wheels also now have this cool lugnut cover (don't know if the 2000 had it too) and I think the 2001 SE comes with better tires too (Potenzas) but I could be wrong about that.

That blue color...

Is that a new color for all Maxima's or just the Anniversary edition?

Thanks

That blue color is only offered on the 20th Anniversary Edition.

Now all that is left for Nissan to do to the Maxima is to: crank out more power, make it rwd, have an option for the automatics to come with a manual shifting feature, and add a telescoping steering wheel. Now that would be my ideal Max.

Re: Any idea's on pricing?

I don't know what MSRP is for the 2001, but invoice price is only $540 higher than the 2000. After negotiating with my dealership for 6 months, I got mine tricked-out, custom-ordered, and $XXX over invoice. After tax, title, and license, it came out to... oh wait, I can't say...my loan guy's giving me a dirty look (which is a pretty neat trick considering he's in Portland).

And whether or not the Satin Blue Pearl (the color of a perfectly cloudless summer day in Seattle.....YES WE GET SUN UP HERE ) is a special color or not, I have no idea, sorry. All I know is there are VERY few Satin Blue Pearl max's driving around Seattle/King County, which is just fine by me!

WHOO HOO LOOKIT ME!

I'M A MAXIMA DRIVER!

NIIIIIICE!!!!

LOVE the blue color... I'm going to drool over here.... ohhhhh baby. Yes, it does look like there's a bodykit-- it looks noticably nicer compared to the 2000's.

(btw again Russ, don't you ever post links to your sources??)
