Alignment question
I recently dropped my Max with Maxspeeds. I was under the impression that I needed an alignment. When I brought my car into a tire place they said that since my car was tracking straight I didn't need an alignment. They also said that since I lowered the car, even if I did get it aligned, the best they could do was get it to track straight. I don't know much about alignments but I thought I read that even an incorrectly aligned car can track straight. Any advice?

The castor should not be affected but the camber should be a little out of spec becuase the car is lower. Basically the toe is where the tires are pointed perfectly straight forward. The castor is where one tire is further ahead of the other one and the camber is where the tires will be bowed out towards the bottom. I'm not aware of an adjustment for camber on the maxima suspension without aftermarket camber kits so they really can't fix this without them. The question is whether or not the camber is so far out of whack that it will eat up your tires becuase you are literally riding on the inner edges of the tires. I had my prelude lowered for 2 years on the same tires without kits and I was using eibach pro kits. I noticed some excessive inner tire wear but not a substantial amount. But anyways, take it to someone who will do the alignment. How can they say that the car doesn't need an alignmenment by looking at it? The probably didn't want to give a warranty on it since its been lowered. Some shops are picky about it.
