Powertech Muffler Question!

For those that have the powertech mufflers, I am thinking of getting the model

PT1012 from here http://www.ketronsales.com/products/.../mufflers.html

Has anyone found it cheaper, and with dual 4.5 tips will it still fit on my 2K2? Thanks.

Holy crap, 30 bucks! I thought it would be at least 60ish. My nearest Meineke is in the San Fernando Valley (I'm in LA). How long should I expect the install to take, maybe I'll just run up there for a few hours.

Just find any ma/pa exhaust shop, they will weld some hangers and bend a pipe for like $30 easy since it is about a 30mins job.

Ive had one since new, soooo much better than stock. The note is DEEP and satisfying. The price your gettin is aobut what I paid, just that I got mine w/o shipping. The install can be done by any competent muffler shop. Have fun, your gas mileage is about to go to hell in a handbasket

Just make sure they align it properly, and it sticks out to your liking. The first time I had it done, by some mom and pop place, it was crooked, so I had to have it redone.

I'd say go for it, I have it on for a little over a year now, everybody like the sound it make, if you plan on puttin on a Y-Pipe keep your resonator though otherwise it will be too loud. Installation was like 30$ us.

Cheers

Im going to do a Ypipe and a B pipe with no resonator... .. If it's too loud I can always add the resonator later..

So the simple answer for the install is that it will cost somewheres between 30 and 60. I can keep my oem muffler right? In case I want to switch back? I like the idea of rigging it to make switching it out easy later. It will hopefully be shipped tomorrow and installed within a week or two. What price will I know I'm being hosed on? Anything over 60ish?

Then it might cost more, cause most shops are going to hack off the oem muffler and weld a small pipe from there to the PowerTech. If you want them to do the whole pipe to the flange to the Bpipe then it is going to cost more cause then they have to have the flange that will match upto the Bpipe.

Does your gas mileage drop because you're goosing it more....or because the engine mgmt system is affected?

thanks

Yeah, maybe I'll just have them hack and weld. I was only worried about it being too long, but I'm not planning on a y pipe or anything, and I like the note, but is it too loud at highway speeds around 2500-3000 rpm???
