well i got my 2k1 max about 3 and a half weeks ago, it came with a lil under 24,000 miles, im now up to about 24,500 and today my service engine soon light came on.......i checked the gas cap and tightened it but it still never went off.. its not blinking but its still on,, anyone have any ideas? do i need an oil change?

Mine has done the same thing twice in the past 2,500 km. The first time it went off after maybe a week and a half.

 

I would change the oil anyways just to be safe, since you don't know when the last time it was done. The ECU won't know how many miles are on the oil though so you wont get a SES light from being overdue. If you bought it from a dealership it should have come with some sort of warranty, so if thats the case, take it back to them.
