...I'm taking a poll. I've had my new max about 6 weeks now and my hood is becoming dotted with touch-up due to numerous paint chips. Some of you have mentioned concerns about the paint quality and I'm thinking you may be on to something!

Here's my dilemma. The solution would be to install the nose mask, HOWEVER, the Nissan mask does NOT fit the AE because of the aero kit. So, I'm thinking about buying it anyway so that I can at least protect the hood from further damage. It is really sickening to see all those little white (and some BIG) marks all over the front...and this after 6 weeks...can you imagine after several years?

So, should I put vanity aside in favor of paint protection and install only the portion of the mask that covers the hood, or would it just look ridiculous? BE HONEST! srm

Don't like it

Just my opinion, but I'm not a big fan of the nose mask. I just don't like the look of it. Although, my sales rep told me that he suggests I get one because he felt it looked better than little tiny chips all over the hood. So I guess to each his own. If the chips bother you that bad then go for it. You can always remove the nose mask if you don't like it!

I'D GO FOR IT!

I'd definitely sport just the hood mask.
In my opinion the whole thing makes the front looks dull and all black, and isn't it bad for the paint, unless you wax it, and take it off every two weeks???
Had the whole bra for my previous car, and never put it on once. Used to always ride with just the hood piece.
Just my 2cents.
peace

Thanks for the lead to 3M Clear Mask...looks interesting and I've requested some info.

Does anybody have pics of the Max with just the hood cover on? I think it would look ok...but you never really know until you see it for real. My car's color is Merlot (burgundy), so it wouldn't be a stark contrast with just the hood piece. Thanks! srm

IMHO, it looks weird... like it's missing something.
