Get the B and wait for headers.

Not in the +02 though. Better design stock than previous gens.

You might as well wait on ordering the Bpipe while you are at it. There are no SIGNIFICANT advantages to having that installed right now on a stock system. Might as well order it all at once and install it at once.

What's the difference between a warpspeed and a cattman B-pipe

And where can I get the warpspeed b-pipe?

There both pretty much the same except that the warpspeed one is much cheaper because of the fact that it is alumized steel and they do alot of work cheap.

I had my car dynoed today after adding the Y and B and I saw a 6hp gain in both hp and tq. That's not as much as I expected, but I ran my car much harder to get to the shop on time and it's a 30 minute drive. My graph is MUCH smoother after adding the Y and B pipes, holding power for longer rpm ranges. My gas mileage has also improved enough for me to notice.

I dont think it has anything to do with your car being driven hard, if you are within normal operating temp, than that is supposed to be the best measure.

Post the graph or raw dyno files.

It's only slightly louder and it actually makes the car sound better. I had a horrible resonance around 5700rpms to redline. After installing the WSP Y pipe, it went away completely.

How can I post my graphs? I can scan them at work, but I'm unsure of how to post them.

the major differences are in the diamater of the pipe, The stock pipe is more restrictive. The pipe b pipe without the resonator will be loudier and sound 'modified'.

The stock Y pipe has 3 90 degree bends. The WSP Y pipe doesn't have such bends. The stock B pipe goes from 2.25 inches down to 1 inch after the resonater. The WSP B pipe is 2.25 inches all the way to the muffler piping. I realise the dyno showed only 6hp and 6tq, but it is a very noticable butt dyno.

In all 4th gen and the 00-01 5th gen the exhaust runner from the left side of the engine (the side closest to the firewall) came down and met the runner from the right side forming a Y that was at a bad angle which induced quite a bit of back pressure. When this Y was replaced with one that freed up the backpressure it created upwards of a 20HP gain if not more.

In the 02+, like Virus said, there are three 90-degree bends to the runner from the left. This makes to pipe longer, and I believe also makes both runners the same length, while joining at the Y at a better angle so there is no backpressure. The aftermarket Y's don't have the 3 bends on the left runner and it's shorter with a slightly larger tubing. That’s why the gains are so small with aftermarket Y's on 3.5's.

As to why people buy them. It's because they are uniformed or they think that the people telling them not to buy'em must be wrong and that the earlier Max's got a lot of power so will I. Nissan finally got the Y right and the only way we are going get sizeable power NA is possibly with headers, once made they will still need to be tested

With the B you can wait and do it all at once or replace it now. What the big deal here is the crush bends fore and aft of the resonator restrict flow. If and when you get one I recommend you get one with a resonator if noise bothers you. This is good for around 5hp over stock with a modified muffler where the stock pipe is cut off and a larger one welded on. Again if noise doesn't bother you then you may just want to get a aftermarket muffler.
