Problems with my 2k2 MAX

Ive been experiencing a couple of problems with my 2k2 MAXIMA with 30k miles, no mods.

1. Whenever im driving on a bumpy road/dip/speed bump, the passenger side front strut/spring makes a raddling nose like something is about to fall off.

2. In the morning after I warm up my car, when I step on the gas I hear water noises. But goes away after a while.

3. My engine/transmission doesnt sound right when put my car in reverse and gas it a little. Sounds louder then usual.

Now my question is, have any of you guys experienced any of these weird problems with your maximas?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have you had the dealer check this out?

Explain? It may be water in the muffler from short drives. This usually cooks off once the car warms up completely (not just the engine). How much do you drive per day?

This is common. I would suggest (and you are at that mileage) a transmission flush and replace with synthetic. I drained my transmission and replaced with Mobil1 ATF at about 10k. I noticed it shifts into reverse much easier now. I plan to do this again at 20k. A full tranny flush would be faster. Take it to Jiffy Lube and take about 12 quarts of Mobil1 with you, should cost about $70 bucks to do the flush. Other's have said it is like night and day afterwards.

I've got problem #1, it's not the spring or strut b/c i replaced them both and it's still there.

Yeah me and 2k2nyc both have the problem in #1. The dealer is going to replace my strut to see if that will solve the problem. I'll keep everyone updated.

It might be the anti-sway bar end link (the ball joints on the ends can wear out and make noise).

If i remember correctly, there was a post similar to this back last summer. It ended up being something more than just a strut. I can't search though. Definitely take it to the dealer.

ABS is right. It's probably the swaybar. I had the same noise on my 2002 and the swaybar was worn. Kind pi**ed me of because my car only has 9000 miles on it. They replaced them and the noise is gone plus the is no more brake vibration at high speed. Have them check the swaybars

I will take it do the dealer this weekend. Hope they can fix my problems.

Anyone happen to fix these problems in the LOS ANGELES area??

Do you guys really think that a 30k service is needed? And how much do they usually go for?

Thanks for the help people.

i am getting problem number 1 fixed. they said it was my strut, so they are going to replace it. They are ordering me a new strut/spring for me.

as for problem number 2, the person that sat in the car with me was deaf and couldnt hear the water noise, but luckily he noticed the rattling.

I'll keep you guys posted.
