Hey Guys,

I was thinking about taking advantage of Avalon's brake special on right now ... but apparently they're for 3rd & 4th Gen only.

Who makes Rotors, pads & in particular big calipers for our cars?

What is stock on our car ... do we have a 4 piston caliper?

Also ... if I am 2 buy a new brake set ... r these supposed 2 b bought as a set .. what I mean is ... are particular rotors best used with particular pads & calipers?

N e info would help!

Tkx!

Search, search, search!

If you use both the 4th gen rotors and pads then it'll fit... otherwise, do what I'm doing.... wait.

The brake set doesn't come with calipers unless you get the big brake kit.

Kev,

I tried calling Hamilton @ Stillen but he must've taken the day off ... lucky dog!

What's the big brake kit cost? Isn't it a couple thousand bux??

Is Stillen in the works to make a caliper for the sport rotors etc that is currently available?

Ciao dude

Y2KevSE,

What didn't you like about the Stillen model? You mentioned they were "thin". Were they dramatically thin? Did you install them and find you didn't like them, or did you inspect and return immediately?

I think the big brake kit is somewhere around $1700. I doubt Stillen's making just calipers for our car. Too bad a 300ZX brake conversion doesn't work...

Yup, the rotors were exactly the same size as the 4th gen rotors. I'd estimate it to be about 4 mm thinner. Since they (rotors and brakes) are 4th gen specs, I gave the set to Jane. I decided not to install them because the technically-inclined people suggested that I not do them.
