I Need Help!!! Idle Problem!
Hey..
this is crazy.. out of no where today as i was on the GSP going like 80 and out of no where my rmp shot up to 5000 and came down.. and i didn't punch it ither.. just went up by its self.. so i slowed down and pulled over.. and when i put it in park, and the idle was like stuck on 1500rmps.. and it was like rev'n it by its self?? like between 1500 - 2000rmps.. i popped open the hood and check my TB and it wasn't stuck or ne thing.. i check for a vacum leek and could'd find ne thing.. not only that my intake was 3 times as loud in park(cuz when i leave it in park u can't even hear the intake). So after look'n at it, i had no idea to wut was wrong so i had to drive it to a family mechanic. and as i was drive'n it, it seemed fine.. but when i slowed down it would pop out of grear really hard(make'n the car jolt). and the idle speen was all F'd up.. i could let go of the break and the car would go up to 35-40mph on its own! so i take it to my friend.. he runs a check on the ecu.. and finds nothing.. no codes nada.. even with the check engin light on.. also tried to reset the ecu.. and still nothing.. the rmp's would still rev 1500-2000rmp's like i was pumping the gas.. so he look's all over the place and finds nothing wrong.. and then he look's at the idle speed controler, he unplugs it and the car is still running?? he said that if u were to unplug that on any car it should just shut off.. but the car was still running.. so he say's its that.. but its not like i don't trust him.. but is it?? if ne one knows i mean?? i have no clue to wut the idle speed controler dose.. so if ne one can help me out on this it would b great.. or ne info also, or it this happend to you to.. let me know..

Your car should idle at a default setting of around 600-700 if the IACV is unplugged or quits.
Sounds like you have a major vacuume leak someplace. Look around, a hose may have come off the intake manifold. Also check the PCV valve, make sure it's not stuck open.
False Air, which is air that gets into your intake manifold after the MAF sensor and throttle plate will cause your idle speed to jump up. Eventually you'll probably get a lean code thrown by the ECU.

JKiMaxAC I would get the mechanic to look at the data the ECU is getting from the MAF while running the car with no filter then cover part of the MAF and see what the rpm's do, see if you can get it to idle at 600-700. He can also look the the O2 readings and see if your running to lean, if so don't drive the car to much till it's fixed. Also see if you can get a cheap MAF sensor from a junk yard and replace yours that way your not out a lot of money if thats not the problem. These things may help you from having to take the car to a dealer.
If you end up having to take the car to a dealer (and are out of warranty) have them diagnose the problem and quote you a price before fixing it. If the price is sky high you can tell them not to fix it and take the car to your place with the info from the dealer.
I"M GOING CRAZY!!.. i just got back from the dealer.. and he's like i checked the ecu and he got a code for idle speed.. after that he he's tell me its the intake that i have on.. *jwt pop charger* and thats wuts cause'n the idle to run like that. from some reason i don't believe him. cuz i also took my car in for the tranny TSB. and over heard him say it slips alil.. and when i talk to him he tells me the car dosen't slip at all.. so after that i didn't trust a word he said, just pay'd 86 bucks for him to tell me the same thing my frined did and left.. all he told me to do is put the stock intake box back on.. but i don't have it ne more.. =( my gurlfriend threw it away!! dam it..
