Leather cleaner & dashboard

I just purchased Meguiar's Gold Class leather cleaner/conditioner. Is this product safe to use on the dash or other non-leather areas in the cabin? The label does not indicate if it can be used on anything else besides leather.

I use Lexol's products for leather cleaning/conditioning, and for the dash/vinyl/plastic.

Lexol Leather Cleaner
Lexol Leather Conditioner
Vinylex (dashboard, plastic, vinyl, rubber, etc)

Give them a shot next time...VERY good products!

Re: Leather cleaner & dashboard

I just detailed my black leather interior this past weekend using Meguiar's Gold Class leather cleaner (aloe) & conditioner. My leather was gleaming when I finished!!!!! For the dash, I bought this Meguair's dash foam (can't remember the exact name) and used it on all my dash & vinyl surfaces (dash, door trim, inside pillars, plastic caps on bottom of seats, console). When I was finished, my car looked brand f*ckin' new in the inside. If I were you, I would try to find the Meguair's Dash & Trim Foam, otherwise I don't see any harm in using the leather cleaner & conditioner to do the dash.

I never clean my dash. I just use my air compressor and the a nice brush. I use the Meguires gold class cleaner for my leather seats, and then use lexol preservative after the cleaner.

No it won't hurt, considering that most cars' leather seats are 50% vinyle anyways. I'm sure Meguiar's knew it would be applied to both leather and vinyle.

it won't hurt but your leather cleaner is probably more expensive than a conventional vinyl cleaner so I why waste the leather cleaner and more money when you could use vinyl cleaner to take care of the vinyl trim. I clean my leather every other month and I have had the same bottle of leather clean since I purchase the car in Oct. 2001.

You will save more money is all I am saying. For those of you that have dash trim a good cleaner to get rid of the excess vinyl/leather cleaner is Glass cleaner does a great job!

I've had great results with Mothers leather cleaner and then using the Mothers leather conditioner... Softens up the leather VERY nicely... Not sure how clean they get 'cause its black leather

I bought Meguires vinyl & rubber cleaner for the dash and backs of the seats etc... It works well and gives the vinyl a bit of lustre, not too much tho and no greasy feel!
