Brake judder - 2001 SE
Quick question here. My 2001 SE has 26K, mostly highway miles. I'm not a very aggressive driver, so I wouldn't expect my brakes to be acting up within the first two years of owning this car. At speeds higher than 45 MPH or so I have a lot of steering wheel shaking when I break. I first thought it was my tires, but after geting them balanced, rotated and checked for air pressure the problem is still there.
I found a TSB concerning this which extended the warrenty on rotors on the 2000 maximas to 36K. Is there a similar TSB for the 2001 cars? I already called my dealer to set up a service appointment and he told me something along the lines if my pads are still at 50% or if i'm under 20K they will turn the rotors once free of charge, but I don't think I fall into this category. And advice or better yet, does the TSB for the 2001 exist?

2000-01 Maxima; Brake Judder (NTB00-088):
Brake judder may be described as steering wheel/body vibration or brake pedal pulsation when braking (especially during high speed braking). Brake judder may be created by excessive "thickness variation" of the brake rotors. Thickness variation is usually the result of excessive rotor run-out. While brake judder is usually associated with the front brake rotors, it may occur in the rear brake rotors as well.

I did see that TSB, but I did not find anything pertaining to extending the rotors to the 36K warrenty as I found with the 2000 cars (as can be found on the FAQ/TSB page on this site).
Nonetheless, any advice on taking this to the dealer for service or head elsewhere for turning my rotors? Not too sure if I will get overcharged at the dealer for this or if I'm better off taking it to a local or a nationwide chain brake place.

Didn't the TSB called for turning the rotors and replacing the pads?
If you cannot get the dealer to do it for you and you're mechanically inclined, you could do the job yourself. There are places like Pep Boys that would turn the rotors for like $7 a piece.
Good luck
