Transmission Shifting in and out of OD at highway speeds.
Has anyone noticed problems with their transmission acting funny at cruising speeds on the highway. My 2000 max se auto will shift in and out of overdrive while traveling at 65 to 80 mph. the dealer performed the tsb on the transmission, that fixed all 1st,2nd,3rd gear delayed shifting problems. the car shifts very firmly now which i like. the dealer says now they must either replace the transmission, or keep it for a few days to try and isolate the problem. Anyone have any advice?
If you have your foot on the accelerator, its normal. If not, then have it checked out. You maybe just used to the old slushy TCM and not use to the new one. At what mile(s) did you get the new TCM installed? I just experienced my first slipping yesterday, only the transmission was in 4th gear, in stop-and-go traffic. My car has about 13,000miles and I fear getting a new TCM will only make the transmission worse.
Question- If the transmission goes, It will be under warrenty right?

My car has 13200 miles. The trans never slips since the new valves or solenoid was replaced. I drove the **it out of my 95 maxima and put well over 170k hard miles on the A/T without any problems. That car was raced in scca events and generally abused. This is begening to worry me. I guess I'll trade cars according to the amount of time left on the warranty,
When you say shifting in and out of overdrive, do you mean it downshifts then upshifts, or do you mean the OD button on the dash keeps going on and off, with the RPM's increasing/decreasing depending on the state of the OD button?
Hey edadams I experience the extact problems you mentioned. It all started after I got the new TCM. When crusing at the same speed or even just accelerating slightly, the trans will downshift and then pop right back to 4th. It's quite irritating. The trans acts like it's confused or just plain broken.
