2000 Maxima with high miles....whadda ya think?

Hey guys I'm a long-time browser (and have loved Maximas since I was a kid) but 1st time poster, as you can see.

I've been searching for a car for around $10,000 or less and pretty much decided on an Altima or a real good deal on a Maxima. I'm pretty much limited to dealer cars since my dad (the source of the funds) wants a car with a warranty since I'll be 1500 miles away from home (Miami), which leads me to dealers' certified used cars. Every now and then I check out CarMax to see what they have, and today I came across this: 2000 Nissan Maxima GLE . I plan on trying to get the VIN and running it thru CarFax to see what the deal is on this car. How do you get almost 100k miles on a car 3 years old?!

Thanks

Jaggrey... that isn't a bad deal for a 2k GLE. My g/f bought her 2k GXE with 41k miles for $13k. Just make sure with the amount of miles it has on it (100k in 3 years is a lot... but it could be commuter miles like BlueStreak)... take it to a Nissan dealer and have them do a spot check (or run it through the computer) to make sure it was well taken care of.

you need to make sure the tranny isnt toast and the TSBs have been done and the coils have been replaced.. those are the two items to watch on a 2k, regardless of miles. the dealer has access to all mx done on the car and can find that out for you.
