Thin black lines on paint

My Max ('03 Sheer Silver) started developing some strange thin black lines on its paint. At first I thought thay were scratches but upon closer look (and feel), they turned out to be dirt. They form under side mirrors mostly but are also on doors and trunk. They are pretty tough to remove, you really have to rub that spot to get it out.

Does this sound familiar to anybody? How can I avoid this?

Thanks,

Alex

It's all about the clay bar baby. Just wash with dawn dishwashing detergent instead of car wash soap. Then clay the car. Then since it's close to new just throw a few coats of wax on it.

Thanks for the advise. I am not sure what claying a car is ... Can you expend?

You mean expand I hope. Search around for it, you'll find plenty. Claybars are basically playdoh like substances that remove all kinds of crud from your car. Look through the "cleaning your max" sticky.
