the thing that kills me every time is someone will "disagree" with the FAQ and post his thoughts here... but the freakin' FAQ handles BOTH sides, so how can someone 'disagree' with it?

and then we get into the whole "if we answer the question then they'll never use the FAQ/Search" issue... it's getting old, really really old.

Go with the 245/45/17, Just remember the cost of buying at least 2 tires every 8 months

If tire questions hurt your guys feeling so much, why do you even read them. There are other .org members on this board that don't mind giving out advice. Now i'm going to hear, there is a post about this every day, why can't people search, they need to read the FAQ, . Go ahead......I know it's coming. When i was new, i didn't understand how to use the search or where the FAQ even was. You guys seem as if you have posted so many times that certain things shouldn't be posted anymore. I would love to see some of your guys posts from when you where noobs!

jjs, look at this! Here you are asking a tire question. No one turned you down for an answer: https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...&highlight=jjs

2k2wannabe, here is one for you. It's not about tires but a wheel question. Easy question that you could have looked up on the net but i went out of my way to find the answer for you: https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...ght=2k2wannabe

No hard feeling from me. It just seems you guys forget what it was like to be a noob or even just a noob on a certain question. It's great you tell them to look in the FAQ. Why don't you give them a link to it while you’re at it and drop the sarcasm?

Hey, bucko...look at the freaking date. Before you go shooting your mouth off, my question was posed long before the onslaught of the very same question being asked time and time again, before the FAQ's had the tire info, and about a tire size NOT previously discussed.

Perhaps if you knew what you were talking about you wouldn't be so defensive.

I wasn't being defensive. Just noticing how you jump in on all these posts and provide no help.

I don't care when you posted that thread. Just refreshing your mind! You seem to forget that everyone doesn't know everything.

If i knew what i was talking about huh? That really hurts, not!

By the way, i'm not a cowboy...

Took the words out of my mouth. I don't mind people getting annoyed at new topics that are but that's different than simple questions that people don't mind answering. I myself have had numerous questions that I could have found eventually, but the helpful members on .org helped me out all the same. Perhaps some of us like to help others and some of us are content with just every time we see a topic that has been covered already. I don't know, I have no problems finding the scroll bar and just skipping threads that I can't or don't want to help with.

Currently awaiting from above members.

I think people who don't know that they SHOULD read the FAQ first simply don't know any better. It should read in huge bold letters (somewhere obvious) in every forum to read the FAQ before making any post on maxima.org

If the noobs don't know that that's what they're supposed to do, you can't really blame them, unless it's made obvious that it's what you do before you post.

BECAUSE ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS HIT BACK to see the link!! If they can't do that they should step away from the keyboard, my friend.

I guess the frustration comes from people not taking the time to find info on their own, and instead just posting AGAIN info that out is already out there. I also can't believe people are defending users who don't try to look up information on their own. How about we get 20,000 people all posting the same question EVERY DAY... that would make the site less than useable .

"Easy question you could have looked up on the net"... that's what I did. I searched around here for a few hours and didn't find the answer, so I asked. The question hadn't been posed before so now it's out there in case someone needs to know. By asking that question I CONTRIBUTED TO THE INFO ON THIS SITE because it was NEW; I didn't create yet another "tire size" thread. If someone were to ask the same BMW wheel question I did I would give them the URL to that thread, and tell them to use search next time.

And for your info, one of my first posts is the first link in the 5th gen FAQ... it's about how noobs should read a little and try to find the answer before posting a question BECAUSE IT'S PROBABLY BEEN POSTED BEFORE!! Here you go (so you don't have to search for it):
https://maxima.org/forums/showthread...threadid=96396

Ultimately lazy people pi** me off, and starting a thread when the answer is right under you nose is just too fcking lazy for me to ignore. Call it a peeve, a weakness, even a sickness... but if people continue to create threads that are addressed nearly word-for-word in the FAQ, I'm going to continue posting

STOP THE INSANITY!!! ... it's in the FAQ.

I heard you can drop in a skyline engine and make your max AWD! To save assembly costs nissan put the rear-drive tranny in there already...you just have to hook it up!

I heard you can drop in a 350z engine and all you have to do is turn it 90 degrees when you install it!

oh, and what's Dave B's new phone number???

STOP THE INSANITY!!! ... it's in the FAQ.

thanks for finally seeing the light...sounds to me like you just recommended people stop posting "this crap" about tire size when it's all already in the FAQ.

Look jjs, another convert!

You all are too funny. It's only crap because you didn't add a link to the FAQ. The poor noob searching still wouldn't know where to start after reading this thread. Here, i'll help them out: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....hreadid=36867. The search feature can be found here: http://forums.maxima.org/search.php

How about, STOP THE INSANITY!!! ... it's in the FAQ! Click Me Noob

It's a little better

I do agree with you and jjs, that members should search and use the FAQ before posting. I never said they shouldn't but I would still give them advice. You two just jump on them to quick and don't point them in the right direction.

fight with "these people"? You mean the ones who think you could take the few seconds to look in the FAQ where that question has been answered before?

The sad part is there's a "yes or no" there and you're still asking the question.
