Intake: Another post

I've got 120 saved up so far. Should I save up and get the Place Racing CAI. Or the Stillen WAI. Basically the whole purpose of changing you intake is to get more power so I'm thinking to save a little more and buyin the Place Racing.

Neither. Get the FrankenCar because it'll give you a couple more ponies and sound better.

Why is the Frankencar producing more power? I don't see how it is different than the Stillen.

Just curious

the frankencar includes a midpipe that replaces the stock intake section that the stillen leaves in place. also it's less expensive, sounds better and gives more hp. www.frankencar.com

Where is the proof to this? Anyone have dynos? I know the website says all this and shows thier dynos but they ARE trying to sell them. I'm getting ready to buy an intake is why I'm so curious about this.

The best "overall" is the GAB with CAI. Some intakes (like Injen) are designed for high end performance, others (like Frankencar) are designed for low end performance. The GAB with CAI is the best for all around.

actually the injen is designed more for low end performance because the longer intake tube restricts the airflow rate as you get higher into the rpms but gives more low end because of teh increased air velocity. mine is designed to be teh median of both worlds, more low end then a regular pop charger with good high end power also.

w/ apexi filter.....I've had the Frankencar installed on my max since the second week I had it, and 1 year later no problems and I love the sound at WOT. I would recommend it over any other intake.

And one more thing, for the frankencar intake, what color do you guys think would look good under the hood. I want to have a polished/chrome and black with a little bit of blue hoseing theme going on under the hood. I was thinking on getting silver. I don't know, what do you guys think.

www.frakencar.com has a kit with the APEX'i filter and the installation kit. Does that bolt on directly to the MAF. Because I don't have the money for the mid-pipe.

Nope. All you need to do is take out the old intake using sockets and be VERY VERY careful with the MAF. I could do it now with no problems if I had one.

I've pretty much never done any work on cars, so this "easy" job could turn into a crapload of work for me.

Damn, now I gotta decided between the Frankencar and getting tint.

Well, I'd go with tint first. More poeple look at the exterior than under the hood. And besides, all your getting is like 10 more hp that you really don't need. I'd go with tint if I were you.

I would do the tint first too. I actually tinted my windows the same day I got the car. I dont like the way the max looks without the windows tinted.
