Should I switch Maxspeeds for Eibachs..?

I have Tokico Blues coming in the mail.... Should I switch out my Maxspeeds for Eibachs ? I have a chance to get some Eibachs for a good price. What do you guys think. I could care less about a comfortable ride. I want performance. I Can't afford JIC coilovers right now., cause I have a crap load of audio stuff going in soon. What do you guys think ?? All opinions are welcome, !

Kloogy- I have Eibachs on my car and I just ordered some Maxspeeds. Looks like we could have just swapped springs...

Although I am probably going to chop a coil off the Maxspeeds.

BTW- on the 2k2, the drop is weird- It drops .75" in the front and 1.2" in the rear. I am absolutely positive about this. 2K-2K1s drop at least 1.3 in the front, but not 2K2s. I'm debating chopping a coil on those too.

For a sec I was wondering if you two were trading or something. I dont know why every1 bashes the Eibachs for the way they ride, its just fine. If you think Eibachs are still, slap on some Teins and then tell me what you think.

I think the Eibachs would give you better handling over the maxspeeds...

I'm going with H&Rs with GR-2s. I had Eibachs with Tokico blues on my previous Max and the ride sucked. It handled great though. No body roll at all. The crappy ride could have been due to the rubberband-like sidewalls of my Yokohamas, but I don't want to take a chance this time. I also put the blues on my Pathfinder, and the ride was very stiff. JMO.

When I get my next lumpsum of money I'm going to be getting either Eibach or Sprints with Tokicos for my 2001.

If you want performance, get rid of the Tokico's and get yourself some GR2's. They will blow the Toks away in handling. There much firmer then the Blues and will help reduce body roll.

Switching from MaxSpeed to Eibach is also a good idea if your looking for performance. I just installed a set of Eibach's coupled with GR2's this past weekend on a 5th gen. Nice ride, firm well controlled, very sporty ride. No bounce, just nice and firm with excellent steering response.

I've installed Maxspeed springs for a few orgy members. They really don't impress me. Nice drop, they ride ok, but you really can feel the difference between a well known sport spring **Eibach** and an inexpensive lowering spring.

Im runnin eibach and toks on my car now and the ride is fine. I also dont understand why everyone bash's the ride of the eibachs. Its sporty and the handling is great. I say go for the eibachs. The ride doesnt bother me at all, no bounce, great handling, and a perfect drop. Good luck whatever you choose to do!

kloggy, i have the sames rims/tires as you do and have the tokico's with eibachs. I must say, the ride is much harsher then stock but not terrible. The eibachs give a nice drop as well. check out my homepage for before and after pics of the drop as well as a description of the ride. I don't know what the maxspeeds feel like so i couldnt compare the two. If you are happy with the way it looks/drives now, then i say leave it. you should always leave well enough alone. But, if you can get a good deal on the eibachs and it won't cost much to install, then get them. You won't be disappointed.

PMAS,

I have to totally disagree.Your car looks sweet, but the eibachs look no good on your car. You still have a pretty big fender gap, IMO.

Kloogy, get the TEINS. they are the lowest and most equal drop for the max. Mine are going in this weekend, and from all the pics i have seen, they look great. And, i wouldnt run tocrapos, they suck..

That's awesome. What did you bolt it to? I don't recall seing any mag lights that were made specifically for a car. Did you mount to the seat or the body?

What a great mod: looks, function, and proection all in one!

It's a 5 minute install to mount the maglite. The mounting kit comes with two holsters, however you can only fit one in our cars, and you only really need one of the holsters to hold the light in place. A couple of people on here, including myself, have had this mod for a while. Cheap and good.

This work was done on my 5th gen and theres only one word I can use when I drove the car after. WOW. What a difference! Ride is firm/no more rolling/the bounce and floating feeling is gone. I gunned it to 100mph and swapping lanes just like I was driving 30...Love it!!!!!Even my wife drove it and noticed it. Now, that says a lot...
By the way, "njmaxseltd" is higly recommended by me for quality work on maximas. This guy knows his stuff

I've had the Maxspeeds in for a couple months now, but want more of a drop. So...I just ordered Tein springs, and will be swapping them out.

He is running the smaller tire size. That is why you think that there is such a big gap. He is running the 235/35-19 and Kloogy is running the 245/35-19. You know I think. Eibachs all the way.

Well, compared to the maxspeeds i suppose the eibachs have a more conservative drop. Although conservative, i do think it looks better then some others that have their cars slammed to the ground.

Also, i have to be concerned with rub having the 19's and all.

I have less than one finger in front and no finger in the rear, much like maximadave and I'm on AGX/Maxspeed. I like it a lot personally, more drop in front than in rear, looks damn good

With the Teins, and the 245/35/19 setup you go Kloogy I know for a fact you will have very, very little wheel gap. Maybe 1-1.5 finger gap at the very most. I have about 1.5 gap with them but I have the 235/45 with the OEM 17's (btw they are sittin on Toks) The ride at this point is just fine, not too rough and gives alot better steering response then stock obviously. I dont fell any bodyroll any more, around large shoulders if I get on it, I find meslef not being able to stick to the seat anymore so I think that speaks for itself. If you do go 4 them, since you do have 19's on low-pros I can honestly tell you the first week its gonna be hell until it settels in. It was like a rock on mine and I have the stock wheels with thicker tires. It gets softer after the first week by quite a bit but dont be surprized by how stiff they are the first week. If you can live with the rock hard setup the 1st week then you'll like em afterwards. Oh and as for the Tok's, my impression on them is ehhh. Not really amazing, I think I should have gone with GR-2's but they are still fine.
