dte + odo = 500 miles

I finally reached the 500 miles/tank barrier... Not that I'll ever actually achieve 500 miles/tank unless I go 500 miles without stopping once. It was a mix of city and highway driving, mostly highway though... but you have to stay off the throttle (very difficult). Anyways... anyone else coming close to the elusive 500?

regulary. This was 440 and that's common with the type of driving I usually do.

I hit around 450 on the way back from Virginia a few months ago. 100% highway and I still had probably 30-40 miles left but wasn't sure where the next station was so I figured I'd stop

On another note has anybody gotten their tank so empty that the dte flashes with just dashes. It said "dte -----" and just kept flashing. I was coasting off the interstate when i finally found a gas station.

I had that happen to me several times, but each time i fill up i find i still have around 2-3 gallons left in the tank.

Driving 'til the tank is empty is not a recommended practice. You can pump up sludge from the gas tank.

I have. It panicked me quite a bit, and I stopped at about the closest gas station I could find instead of going to one a few miles away. I too had at least 2 gallons left in actuality.

Holy crap! I get like 225-275. I'm averaging 18 mpg. But I hit the throttle pretty hard though.
