With the bumper, that doesn't sound that bad to me. I paid around $200 for just my hood, headlights and mirrors. The bumper looks much more difficult and is more material. imo

The price is OK. I paid $400 for that array of coverage except I skipped the lights for now. The lights may get hot and I wanted to better understand what heat does to the 3M material.
Also, I think the lights should be of heavier material. Maybe double thickness.

It is said to be removable without harm, though I bet you never do that once you see how inconspicuous it is and how great the paint protection.

I bought a clear wind deflector from Ventshade off of a Yahoo store. I am very happy to say that it works and looks great. I have a sterling silver 2K maxima with a few painful paint chips on the hood. With the clear deflector I wont be seeing any additional damage. Installation took about 20 minutes. I drilled 4 pilot holes to the underside of the hood. The holes line up very nicely and will not damage the top of the hood. The best feature it that you dont have to worry about the deflector ruining the looks of the car. I see a lot of black max drivers with the smoked deflectors.

The clear deflectors runs 71 bucks with shipping. Installs easily, and the best feature is the fact that its clear, so it will work with any color car you have.

I'd stash that money in the bank, let it collect interest (what little it will these days).

Then if I still had the car in 4 years or so, and when the bumber and hood are really chipped up, I'd have them completely repainted. Probably cost less than the $420.00.

I must say after seeing the Max we are getting yesterday I agree. The car is a 00 with 35k Miles....there is just one small mark on the front end of the hood (can't even see it unless you really get your nose in it)....if thats all the car has after 35k miles..then I think I will take my chances for the next few years...

You wont have to wait 4 years or so, with no clear bra the front of a max will need repainting in less than a year..

cant say why the Max's paint isnt chipped you are looking at buying, however 99.9% of org members will agree they are either glad they have a clear bra or are sorry they didnt....Had my max 2-3 months and already had 4-5 chips....14 months later after clear bra installed no chips...
