Just broke my rear view mirror from stereo

Just did it at lunch while playing my stereo. It was hanging from the wire so i had to pull over to take it off. Got some pics of it. check page 3, also check page 2 of my homepage to see what did it. Looks like its time to call DaveB.

Sounds like a warranty issue to me. Defective mirror IMO. I'd say you hit a bump and it fell off.

No kidding. Several other things would have broken/cracked first...namely the glass.

Definitely! I'd argue that one at the dealership before I spent a penny of my own money on it. They'll have a hard time turning you down on that one IMO.

I didn't even think about it being under warranty, will check into that today.

dealer is just going to use some double sided tape & remove the one you have on your mirror now so it sticks better

if that's the case, smash the glass and say when it fell, it fell onto something hard on your seat and it cracked...that way they HAVE to replace it, not repair it

What the hell is the point kevin, its non-functional in our cars anyways. I say leave it off, or buy a cheap a$$ mirror and put a ton of dynamat where it meets the window. lol

I'm surprised it lasted that long with how loud your stereo is.

WTF? I've heard 160+ db's (140 is a 747 at takeoff at 50 ft. yes I know sonic is different than spl but 160 is 7 times the power required to hit 140) and it didn't crack glass. His car only hits a 137.3. The constant bouncing/shaking would probably stress a cheap piece of metal that has a heavy piece hanging off the end.

I hit 142 something on my friends dB monitor. I wonder if my mirror will fall off. I dought it though, because I rarely play it that loud anyway. I need to go enter a competition to get an official result.

I checked out your homepage, How do you like those Kove 12's, we are currently trying to pick up a pair of thier 15's and can't find them cheap. Nice to see another maxima running autotek amps. You should enter the next competition near you, just to see what your hitting. I am curious to.

I have no clue. I was seriously thinking of getting 1 but I guess that slowly faded away. That was gonna be a temporary til I get a real setup just to hold off for the time being. But I still have over $1K of componet, amp, ect... sittin at home. Not even a deck. Im gonna go all out if I ever get off my @ss and get the 03. I just have other things to take care of so my hands have been full.

Whats up Kevin,
I love my Kove Subs. This is my second set I've gotton off ebay. I wish I didn't sell my fist ones, but I got a second pair off ebay for the same price I sold my old ones with the box. I had to buy a new box, but I got a new set. The only problem if you didn't notice is that they're two differnt subs. Look at the center caps. One is a lot bigger than the other. Hopefully this summer I'll find a competition to enter this summer. Can't wait. Later guy
