Cut the drying time down, eliminated the forearm workout on wringing out the chamois 20+ times, and it reduced the time for water spots to form. Worked great!

We have 2 of them at my apt. They are great. They were 9.95 at Costco each!

That's cheaper than mine. I got mine at Walmart awhile ago for $20, but hadn't used it till this weekend. I'm impressed at how well it worked once I got use to it. Click here for their website: http://www.calcarduster.com/ccdc/wat...=012301000853.

yeah, theyre pretty great, but watch out and make sure you have a firm hold on the handle. ive already slipped twice and put some nicks in my paint job when the handle hit my door.

I like how it cuts drying time down... after you scrape off the water, all you have to do it wipe the car with a towel and you're all done.

Even though I have one,

but I'm still not fully convinced that it doesn't cause scratches...

It's probably just as abrasive as a chamois dragged over the paint. And when used, it is probably much less abrasive because you can actually clean it. The chamois collects all that dirt and crap in it and virtually impossible to know if it's clean.

In my humble opinion, microfiber cloths will outperform the both in terms of minimizing scratches. Microfiber
90,000 hooks per inch that grabs, lifts, and most importantly holds dirt within the cloth away from your paint job ( DIRT is the enemy). The super-absorbent cloth will hold 7 times its weight in fluid. And detailers tell me it will not scratch glass , paint, window tint, or acrylics. Microfiber in man-made and is blend of polyester and, I think, polyamide which come in different blends. 70/20 is the best called........the Miracle Towel. I'm not a dealer just like sharing a good product.

I bought it today and........

washed my car in 35 degree weather. I went to Target and saw it there so I buy it to gave it a try after I saw this post. Since it snowed here last saturday, my car was covered with salt. I washed the car and used it. I worked great. Left no starches. Great for a cold day and when you don't feel like getting your hands wet and cold. Just scrape and dab the towel through the wet spots. works great.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where can I buy this?

I found it at Pep Poys for $19.95. I bought it at Kragen for $16.95. I found some at Sam's Club at $12.95. And...they best deals are at Costco. They sell them for $9.95.

They don't scratch if you wash your car first, wipe your blade often, don't drop it, or let the plastic handle hit your car. They will if you don't keep them clean or not in the case. Oh, yes...they work best on clean & waxed cars.

I don't particulary care for the California water blade. It works great on flat parts of the car, but not so well on the other parts. For instance, you can't wipe the side mirrors or get into the grooves of the body molding along the bottom. The spoiler, especially underneath the spoiler between the spoiler and the trunk, it is impossible to use.

I used mine for the first time and ended up getting the chamois out anyway.

I think it works great for somebody who likes to quickly get the big stuff off, but for somebody who usually takes their time and gets every drop off the car, they would probably like to stick to the traditional methods.

Just my two cents.

Re: guaranteed?

It will not scratch as long as 1.) the blade is clean 2.) your car is wet and there is no squeak sound when using it 3.) You are not dropping the plastic handle onto the body
