brake question

recently i have to press harder and harder on the brake pedal to stop the car. Brake fluid is fine. I just took it to my mechanic today to get the oil changed and told him to look at the brakes. He said there was no problem... but i'm definitely pressing harder. Is this a problem?

no, i dont think so, its probably the pads getting thinner and therefore you need to apply more brake/fluid to move the pistons
