how often do ya'll get your brakes checked?? I have 30,000 miles on my car and i havent had them checked. I have no noise from the brakes and no check brake light. should i change the pads???? rotors?...any advice...hehe

 

How about just looking every time you rotate the tires?

 

i had them rotated 2 weeks ago. I looked at them. What should i look for to tell if the pads are going bad? What about the rotors? what to look for....

 

Check the thickness of the pad and if the inner pad almost reach the wear indicator (metal clip). Check rotor for grooves and high/low spots. If the brakes are dusty, clean with brake cleaner.

 

You can see the pads inside of the caliper. If they are worn down, replace them. If you don't know what thickness it should be, go to a local parts store and check out how the pads look, then look at your's. For the rotors, if you don't feel they are warped under braking, then they are fine.
