dent removal

I am still kicking myself... The first week I had my max; after checking my oil at the service station, I shut the hood, didnt latch so I pushed it the rest of the way down by hand and put a nice little dent in the very front. I am considering paying 40 - 45 for "paintless dent removal" from a dealer-recommended company. Any thoughts / experience on this?

I had a dent when I picked up the car but my g/f thought I was making too big a deal of it ...last time I take a woman to pick up a car.

I think I saw some on my hood too. I've heard many people who have had similar mystery dents appear. I've got no idea how sheet metal can be so sensitive

In order to avoid putting dents in your hood, never push down on it to latch it. The best way to latch the hood is to let it drop down from about a foot high. Also had paintless dent removal done on a fender and door panel. Worked great. Can't tell there was ever any damage done.

Dent Doctor saved a family member once who put a huge dent in my door. they do some good work. I was all worried and the guy just laughed and said 'people who come here and pay $75 for a tiny dent are all car freaks like you. thats our business'. heh.. he was right. took care of me quite well. they've always been honest when they thought they couldnt get something out and referred me elsewhere (car hit by bbgun, too deep and sharply dented)

I always push down gently to latch the hood.

Never had any problems...

I did the same thing, 1 week after getting the car, while showing the engine to a friend. I was being overly cautious in dropping the hood (don't ask why, just wanted to be gentle on the new car), and the hood didn't close completely. So I pushed SLIGHTLY on it, and immediately felt my hand create a slight crease in the hood. I let off immediately, but the slightest dent was left.

You can only see this dent at night, under a street light, looking at it at a specific angle. I thought about PDR, but I don't think this dent is big enough for them.

Keep us updated on what happens. And if you can, take a pic of the dent (if it's visible) so we can see how large/small it is.

Man i bought my 2003 SE with 2 dents. I didn't see them until a couple of days later when i went to wash the car. I was upset, but i said what can i do. So i went to Carsmetics and they told me 75.00 per door and each additional ding in the same door is $25.00. SO i said ok,but since the 2 dents were on 2 different doors it was 150.00. I thought they had to take the door panles off and it was labor intensive. Dude the guy goes are you ready give me the keys, i gave him my keys and he pulls it to the side and gets a bag out of his truck. Now the gus tells me i will be done in 30 minutes, i was like huhhh. Man i was at a flaw when the guy got the dents out, it was fraekin Amazimg. I cant even tell where they were. He did it in 25 minutes tops. I felt like i got RAPED 160.00 later, but then agian taking it to a body shop would've cost me a HELL of alot more. Now my 2003 SE is dentlesss and 160.00 later.
