Removal of shift knob

Does anyone know how to remove the shift knob off of a 2002 GLE? Thanks in advance.

If it's a 6 speed like my 2k3, just TURN! Others have said it is hard so you may want to rap a towel around it or wear work gloves.

I've got the strength of 10 men so mine came off like a soda bottle cap
