Cool Street Race with an Eclipse GSX
In the interests of "science" of course.......
A friend of mine has an Eclipse GSX (AWD)that hes building up as a drag/street car. Its currently pretty mild and runs 13.5's. In a few months when he finishes a few things it will run be in the 11's.
Well, we were out to dinner last night and on the way out we went at it
We went from about a 15 mph roll to about 80 mph. It was pretty much dead even. I started about 1 car ahead of him and finished that way.
It just goes to show how important the launch is in an good ET. At the track, he runs almost 1 second faster than me, but from a roll (where the AWD launch isnt a factor and the added driveline loss hurts), Mad Max fared respectably.
Fortunately, when we came the the next light, there were cars in from of us so Mad Max didnt get his #$@ handed to him
From a standstill, I would have been AWD fodder.
