My dead pedal died

Yeah, after 3 years and 28K miles that lil piece of vinyl fell off today (pic below). Sounds like a good excuse for an upgrade to me! I'm thinking about going with Wild *****'s 350Z replica pedal. Any thoughts, opinions or other options welcome!!

Also, I'm considering upgrading my break & gas pedals as well. I know Bill's working on some for the Maxima but I'm also considering the AE version. I'd like to hear opinions about those too. Thanks!

Go with the AE petals. They look a lot nicer.

AE pedals are an easy install and not to expensive. They look nice too.

Actually, Wild *****'s pedals are considerably less expensive than the AEs. He also told me he can clear coat them so they will look better longer.

Re: Re: My dead pedal died

Does anybody know if those metal finish pedals are legal in New Jersey. I've seen pics of other members brand new TE package 03's that looked like they came with them standard(could be wrong) but i know mine didn't. I also have a friend that tried a custom pedal but failed inspection for it and had to put the rubber covering back on. Just curious.

Mine came with em (Titanium pkg), and the biggest drawback I have faced with most aluminum pedals is "slippery when wet." The factory ones are rubber protruding through the holes so your feet don't slip off of them. Absolutely priceless in my eyes. Ever tried to drive a car with regular aluminum pedals with wet shoes?? Heh, good luck!

I assume you are referring to me:

I would try Courtesy Nissan . They are local to me, but give good pricing to .org members, seem to be highly recommended on the site. Have you befriended your local dealer's Parts Manager yet? I find this is always a good thing to do.

Sorry I have ben unable to post..I had to go to a different computer for some reason I can no longer post from home.

I hafe complete sets on over 100 altima's auto and 5 speeds. There have been no issues with slippery when wet. When i first made them..I tested them with a spray bottle on and off....No difference as far as grip. I could not even tell that they were on.

I sent out the first auto set last week for a maxima..hopefully he will get them installed this week and give some feed back.

I understand that the Gas pedal swap is a pain in the BOOTAY....I am hoping this solves your problem..and you could get the gas pedals from me for an easy install.

I sell the gas and brake combo for 35 bucks shipped..Including all mountng hardware....If you just need the fas pedal...it would be half of that.

Please e-mail if interested..Like I said..I can not post from home. dbn689@infonline.net Or feel free to call me at home...the pedal factory is always open for questions.

724-347-5668 (I do this because it is fun)

Thanks,

Bill

See page 1 of my homepage for Wild *****'s dead pedal installed. The other pedals were stock, cause I have HLSD.

Either that, or HLSD. I believe that they came with the HLSD package. I don't have the Titanium package, but i have the pedals.

Just pulled out my window sticker to check---I just assumed it was part of the TE pkg. I have HLSD but the pedals aren't mentioned on my sticker anywhere.

Am I the only one who doesn't have any dead pedal at all? I just have carpet there. My friend has a 99 and we noticed before that he had the little rubber dead pedal and I didn't, but I just assumed it was like that on the 2003. Seems like you guys with 2k3s all got them though.

Yeah I think you do. Did you put that rubber piece on the carpet to the left of the clutch?

It's not rubber, it's plastic, and it's part of the carpet. Kinda like a wear pad. No dead pedal. I assume yours is a manual?

Yeah that's what I mean...the little plastic pad that is part of the carpet. Mine doesn't have that at all, it's just regular carpet. And I have an auto, never learned how to drive a manual.

Or just an overlook on the engineers' part while building BiggD's car.. haha.

OT: how the hell do you quote someone and make it look like a quote?

Follow up Pics

Just received my new dead pedal from Wild ***** today... Thanks man!!

I went ahead and purchased the AE pedals and door sills along w/ some new floor mats. WOW! What a difference just a few changes can make. All I need to do now is clean the carpet (didn't realize how dirty it was till I put in new mats) and I'll have a like-new car.

Here is a before pic (after the vinyl dead pedal fell off):

... and here are 2 shots of the new stuff:

I'm eventually going to put a "how-to" for this on my site. Thanks for all of your input... what do you think about the results?
