Strut/Spring question

If I were to get GR2s and a set of H&R springs, could they be assembled off the car and then installed as units? What I mean is, can I simply remove the OEM strut/spring combo and replace it with the assembled GR2/H&R combo or do I need parts from the OEM setup?

You need parts from the OEM setup unless you buy an extra set.

What's the extra stuffs that he need? Also, what is the difference between strut mounts/boots and bump stops?

He will need the stock bumpstop and boot if not being replaced and the top mounting plate.

So, I will need a spring compressor to get off the necessary pieces? Or, are these pieces affordable enough to just buy from Nissan?

You can always goto like autozone or pepboys and rent a spring compressor for free

I priced all the necessary pieces to do the install off the car without using any of the existing suspension pieces before I did mine. Came to a total of $278.50 wholesale!! Not worth it. Take the pieces off the existing suspension and buy new dust boots, not stockers.

Ok, my next question. On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard is it to do the job? I have access to air tools. I installed my rear wheels spacers myself. I needed to disassemble the rear hubs to do it. I had no problem. I do have some mechanical experience (installed cams, distributors, etc), so I'm not a total idiot.

You should be fine. Worst part is taking apart the rear of the car to access the rear upper strut bolts. Air tools will make this job much easier. Pay attention to how things come apart, and put them back together in the same way. The front upper strut plate, for example, is stamped "OUT" on the top so be sure you seat the spring accordingly. Have fun and be prepared for a HUGE handling improvement!

Got pics with the spacers?? I am contemplating this one myself.
