2k2/3 - Stillen Style Aero lip

I just had a 45 minute conversation with PJ at Maxxtuning about making the kit for us. I've been working on this for about 6 weeks now, the manaufacture finally has the time to make it. The kit will be made out of ABS plastic in Taiwan. The price for the kit will be anywhere from $400 - $900(about $200-300 for the lip). The manufacture in Taiwan is giving him a call on Monday for the quantity. The more kits he orders the cheaper the price for us individually, basic supply and demand. Could you guys just just e-mail him to show him that the demand is here at: info@maxxtuningusa.com.

He will judge the seriosness and quantity by the e-mails he recieves. Thanks. Mo.

It's ABS plastic, basically its similar to what our front bumpers our made of. When he told me of the quality of the products, he ranked them from best to worst: urethane, ABS plastic, and fiberglass. We are in the middle as far as quality goes. You guys can post here but make sure you e-mail him, even if you are unsure. I know some of you guys are pessimistic about this because we've been promised before but just e-mail him so that he can see the demand. Spread the word.

I hope this finally gets going. We've had at least 3/4 other attempts at this. And I think ABS will be better than fiberglass. Email sent.

Thanks Zoggfatha, If you have any friends tell them to e-mail Maxxtuning even if they really don't want it. It helps us out.

Hey guys. Just found the thread. I'm still working on this for you. IT IS A DEFINITE PROJECT. In case some of you are unfamiliar with me and Maxx Tuning... I am the one who sparked the lil bodykit revolution around here. I saw that the only kits available for the 95-99 Maxima were the Stillen and Sarona kits. I went out and left my car for two weeks to get the mold made for my old car (97 Max). After a few months of putting up with the manufacturer's bull**** and angry customers, the kits finally arrived. The skyline kits you hear about, or see, were my idea. After that everyone else statred coming out with bodykits. BUT... as I see here no one makes anything for you guys and I WILL do something for you guys. I will make the AE style lip for the 2k2-2K3 maxima. Just be a lil patient. I come through with my ideas. I'm not like other people.

I'm also going to try to keep this kit as affordable as possible, but as you heard the more the better. Just to have 10-20 lip kits made is not enough. The manufacturer will not even glance at your situation. Yes the price will be lower than a full bodykit replacement... but not as low as it could be if I only get 50 made. There has to be enough demand where we can easily push around 150 lip kits a month to customers and other stores.

I know some of you are asking... "What the hell is ABS Plastic?" ABS Plastic is between Urathane and Fiberglass. Bear with me... Urathane is half of the time the best stuff you can get because it's very durable and flexible. But, it's expensive, it takes a long time to mass produce them because of healing time and letting them dry, and the paint chips a little easier. Fiberglass... mostly inexpensive because of the materials and it cracks very easy. And it takes a while to mass produce because it also needs time to heal and dry. But you can repair fiberglass. You can't repair Urathane and you can't repair ABS Plastic. Rumors that Urathane can't break or crack are lies. Ask my friend Mike that T-Boned his max into someone 2 years ago. Took us a while to find the pieces of his Stillen front lip. ABS Plastic is the best of both worlds. It's somewhat inexpensive, very durable, more flexible than fiberglass but not as flexible as Urathane, paint doesn't crack that easy, and it can be mass produced very fast. The manufacturer asked me "When was the last time I burned or melted a pen?" I said "It's been a while." Then he asked "How long did it take for it to harden again?" It takes a few seconds. "That's how fast these ABS Plastic kits are made." He also told me that the C-West kits for the RSX are made out of ABS Plastic. Mugen uses ABS plastic to make lips for civics and integra. Your BIC pen is made out of ABS Plastic. Most cars' stock front bumpers are made out of ABS Plastic. I said that's good enough to convince me.

Just send me e-mails guys I need to show some people how much interest there is.

Here's a link to a car with the AE kit just so you can get an idea. A little too close to stock for my taste, but that's just me.

Okay guys, to clear up any kind of misconception, there's a difference between the Anniversary Edition (AE) kit and the Stillen Kit.

AE Kit:

Stillen Aero Kit:

DISCLAIMER: The Stillen picture is from Y2KevSE's website. I did not ask him permission to use his picture on here, so if there is concern, please let me know and I'll have it removed.

Of course there is difference. The pictures from a few posts back looks like a 2001 Max with all original AE options.

Me want Stillen Aero Kit (NOT touring) for 2002 Maxima.

OK, so I'm confused. That's the Stillen Aero kit right? Is it also called the AE kit?

AE = Anniversary Edition
Not sure which year (2001?) Nissan made Maximas w/that option. Doesn't have anything to do with Stillen.

OK, that's what I thought. I don't understand why the title of the thread is AE and MaxxTuningUSA was calling it AE the whole time then.

MaxxTuningUSA,

I think you'll have more buyers if you make the STILLEN aero kit instead of the OEM AE kit.

Also, you'll only need to make the front lip only instead of the whole kit. 2001 Stillen aero kit will fit the sides and rear bumper of a 2002 Maxima, I think. It would then be wise to make the front lip out of polyurethane because the rest are made of polyurethane.

MaxxTuningUSA, I'm very interested in either an AE style or Stillen Aero style front lip. They both look good. All I can say is that they look better than the Stillen Touring front lip.

I wouldn't say they look better.... "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". I just think the Touring front lip looks more aggressive than the aero front lip. Those who are more conservative and do not have many mods in their car would preferably choose the aero front lip.

Thats what I meant,To me the Stillen touring front lip is too aggressive for my taste While the AE and Aero front lips look clean, subtle without too much agressive styling to them.

I prefer the Stillen Aero Kit style. The AE kit for 00-01 Maximas doesn't make the body of the car look any lower, it just sort of goes around the stock bumper and sidemoldings.

The title of this thread was my mistake guys, I never really noticed that it was difference between the 2 kits. Thanks PJ for coming through on this thread, hopefully people will now see that this will happen. I personally want the Stillen Style Aero lip, alot more aggressive than the AE lip. Spread the word guys.
