Finally got a Max
Hey all!
I'm new here. My name's Jason I just got a brand new 03 leftover Max SE yesterday. It is Gray Lustre, auto, and is equipped with all options except Leather, GPS, Climate, and Meridian Package. I've been looking to get a Max for awhile now and was gonna go with a 4th gen til I test drove a 5spd 99 after having riden in my friends 02 6spd. As you guys know day/night difference. I live 1hr. NE of Harrisburg, Pa and lots of driving for my job and wanted something with power/reliability. After only two days I've driven 350 miles.
I'll have pics of my car soon. I opted to get the 5/100k warranty and was wondering if adding a cone filter system voids that warranty? Also I read through the FAQs and didn't see anything on replacement fog lights. I love the xenons but hate have halogen fogs. What are my alternatives; silver stars, superwhite?? Projected mods are: Old Stillen kit, tint-maybe silver-anyone with pics please send, and thats it for now. I would like to get 200k out of this thing which should be in about 4 yrs or less; is that unrealistic without replacing too much? I don't plan on beating it too much either; thats what my weekend car and also my 13sec project minivan are for. (ask me)

congrats on the car and color! Grey lustre is AWESOME! Get the Piaa super whites (.org guys help me out) i think those are the closest match for the HIDs. As for voiding ur warantee, its all about the dealers. Get the frankencar midpipe with filter, and you will be VERY happy. I forget the other place that makes it...

Congrats on the Max and great choice in color.
As far as the fogs are concerned, you are going to have to find a H3 bulb which is the correct size. As far as the type of bulb to get, get either of the following:
PIAA XTreme White (also get the 9005s for the hi-beams. Closest to matching the HIDs)
PIAA Super Plasma
PIAA Crystal Ion

Ok very funny. I didn't want leather because of heat in summer and don't think GPS is necessary.
I have the titanium edition package which includes Bose 6DiscCD, RDS, Front seat side airbags, bright wheel finish, SS Sill Plates, Accent Stitching on steering wheel, sliding sunroof, splash guards and sunroof wind deflector as all you smarty pants should know. BTW How many Maximas came with Titanium Exterior Color Package; the dealer I got mine from said they had 1 of 4 left for sale yet in the nation and they went to Michigan to get it.

I just installed my 9005 and H3 Xtreme Whites. Surprisingly, I was disappointed with the color output. Brightness is undoubtly high. If I had been given a second change, maybe I would try Super Plasma or Super White.

Good decision on deciding on a 5th gen instead of a 6th gen.........
