I got a custom bpipe (2.5" mandrel bent) with powertech muffler.

The sound....umm....i think its so freaking annoying but my friends are telling me its better than what other cars they have been in (w/catback) Around 2000-2500rpm its annoying, but you can't really hear it if its not w/in that range. but most of my driving is around that rpm.

Anyways, my car pulls harder now, can someone tell me what's the typical fwhp gain on a custom catback?

I had a custom catback without resonator installed on my 2K2 with a magnaflow muffler. It sounded great except at 2000-3000rpm's. The sound at idle was f--ing awesome but the drone at the mid rpm's was driving me crazy. Plus the wife thought i was crazy for taking a quiet car and making it "sound like a truck" (her words). I now have a WSP "b" pipe with the stock muffler and couldn't be happier. It sounds slightly deeper than stock and still seems to pull much harder than stock when I stomp on it.

 

5 WHP. thats about all..thats why most of us dont bother, the noise is not worth the power gain.

I get that all the time, got soundclips in my sig if any1 wants to hear. But damn dude,I didnt want to say this but, I told you to get the Dynomax. The magnaflow atlwast does its anoying thing within a narrower rpm range. 1500-1800 on mine but still for normal driving it can get anoying. Dynomax is the cheapest and quietest of them all.

 

Did you get a resonator?

 

Well I have the PT1011 and the budget b-pipe with resonator is on it's way. All I hear is good and now this.

 

How about keep the B-Pipe and just put your stock muffler back?

 

the guy told me he welded (or something like that) the stock resonator onto the new one (i think he said its from bpipe)

as far as only gaining 5whp, i guess i'm dreaming about car pulling hard @ higher speed
