struts and shocks swap question...

Is it necessary to loosen or remove the FSTB and RSB to remove and replace the stock shocks and struts? Thanks in advance for the help...

...You have the new Tein S.Tech springs on your 02 w/ KYB GR2? I am seriously contemplating the exact same config. and I want to know how you would rate the harshness of the ride, I am on H&R right now so I can handle a little stiffness I just don't want to be knocking teeth loose! Give me your honest opinion of the pairing... Also did you need a camber kit? Thanks!

Well, i never been in a car with H&Rs so i can only comment on the TEIN/GR-2s. The ride is not bad considering how low the car is. The spring rates are lower than the eibachs ( i dont know what the H&R rates are) so i would imagine the ride to be probably similar to what you have now. i didnt need a camber kit, and i didnt align the car either, it rides just as straight as it did before the suspesnion was put in..

...If the spring rate is lower than Eibach but the drop is more, do you have trouble bottoming out at all? Did you trim bumpstops? Thanks for answering my ?'s!

I have yet to bottom out, and i hit some pretty big dips going over 60mph. Yes, trim the bumpstops, you have too..

Actually, for a 2.2"/1.7" drop, it's quite nice. The slower you get, the more bumpier it gets, but even at 10-20 MPH, it's definitely managable. The drop alone makes you want to take RR crossings/speed bumps/etc at angles, but I have taken my driveway straight on before.

do you have trouble bottoming out at all?
Nope. Haven't bottomed out yet.

Did you trim bumpstops?
While TEIN recommends that you do, I did not. The ride has not been compromised in any way from what I can tell.

Did you need camber plates w/ the teins?
No.
