Rear Marker Lights

I just got another pair of clear rear marker lights from custommaxima.com. I wanted to replace my old pair because they had so much dirty water built up in them. First thing with the new pair was line the edges with silicone and waited a couple days for it to set. I put them in yesterday and ALREADY i have condensation. Any suggestions? Are the light from courtesy nissan better?

I got mine from Ebay and have had no condensation at all in the 3 months they've been on. I think the ones you have will work fine if you do a better job with the silicone. It took me about 3 "coats" to get it right. What I mean by that is...if you look at the silicone after it dries there are usually little bubbles and holes formed in it. You have to go go back over those parts and make sure to fill in the holes real good. Let the whole thing dry and repeat until you're 100% sure that the seal is good.

I've put 3 coats on my clears from custom maxima, had them on for over a year, and only one has gotten a tiny bit of condensation... this happened after the brutal NE winter, so I think expansion and contraction played a part in the problem. When I took it out, I immediately saw a small section where the water was being let in...

Just seal them a few more times, and then they will be fine.
